I do software. It’s a bit of science and a lot of art, but mostly it’s about finding new ways to make your life better. That’s the fun part.
I started Labnotes to talk about building better software out of great ideas, simple solutions and plain English. Like you, I love software that’s simple, useful and friendly. And I’d like to see more people working on that.
I talk a lot about the software I’m developing, specifically for co.mments. So you’ll read about Ruby, REST, Microformats, scraping, AJAX and anything else I think is simple, elegant but mostly will make your life better.
And once in a while, I’ll throw some sarcasm about overbearing architectures invented for an by consultants, Web 2.0 memes created by new hire Biz Devs, and anything else that smells of soap and water.
I live in San Francisco, if you ever feel like meeting for coffee. Or just e-mail and say hi: assaf@labnotes.org.
