Hope this is a trend. So libxml is back with a vengeance, and on the next frontier: speeding up Rails’s from_xml. Let’s hope this train keeps rolling and we get to see the state of XML improved in more places.

XMPP Bots. Apparently there is a way to tie message processing to domains without messing with roasters. Exactly what I needed for my little XMPP experiment.
Brilliant. I didn’t even know that was technically feasible. Check out the interactive WaterBoard. (art project, nothing to do with off-shore information extraction) Now, that’s impressive multi-touch/surface computing.
