    Rounded Corners – 37

It’s all about the big guys. Jonathan Schwartz has an interesting idea: press releases and operator assisted conference calls are nice, but if you have something to say about your company – blog it. Small businesses are doing it, so why can’t the big guys? As John Turner points out: because it’s all about the big guys, not the small ones. Is Wall Street going the way of the newspaper?

First there was a bubble … Technolust looks at Wired magazine articles from the past and predictions they made about, give or take a few, now. Like this little gem: “What if the Dow doesn’t fall to 3,000, but zooms to 30,000 in four years?”

Year of the rat. Speaking of blasts from the past, here’s another pick from the Wired archives. Back when 56K was fat pipe, 17” screens were also 15” deep, and push ruled the Web. (Content, you see, was merely king, a honorary title) Ruled? It went from zero to Google in one year! “There was a window of opportunity last year to build the right set of partnerships – both technology and content – to compete with PointCast.” Yet, it insisted on playing childish SEO games.

Anything but waterfall. What Jeff said.
