The Voodoo Consulting Style. You hire a Voodoo consultant one because you can’t tell good liars from good help. You hire a Voodoo consultant twice because … What makes companies do that? Is that human pysche? Economic sense? Too much money?

Quote of the day. Charles Miller on the non-spec that is OPML: “It’s the alluring vapor of a specification that isn’t there.”
Unfriendly URLs. Every action has some intended and un-intended consequences. Unfriendly URLs sometimes means losing your authority. I participated in so many conversations where friendly URLs were “debated”. It’s foolish to pretend you can list all the pros and cons and weight the consequences.
While we’re on this subject, something else I recently noticed. WordPress is one style of blogging that has friendly URLs. Yahoo360 is another style of blogging that uses weird unique identifiers. Can you tell which one is more useful? And are those technical issues or difference of philosophy?
